Detroit Red Wings vs. Boston Bruins

NHL: 7:00 PM EST

Jan. 24, 2017

TV: NESN
Latest Odds : BOS -175 O/U 5.5

The Red Wings recently lost a very hard fought game against the Rangers in the last outing they had. However, the loss was only by a single goal and it was loss the Rangers earned the right to pin on the Red Wings as it did take until overtime. So it is easy to see against the good teams the Red Wings can play some great hockey.

What is really killing the Red Wings is the lack of power play offense. They are only converting at the power play in 11.3% of the times and that is ranked dead last in the league for conversions.

The Bruins are coming into the game after suffering what can be classified as a humiliating loss at the hands of the Penguins. The Bruins defense gave up 5 goals in the game and the offense was only able to reply with a lone goal. So it is easy to see the Bruins would like to have a good game to tune up on.

What is shocking is the defense for the Bruins on the season usually only allowed 2.5 goals a game and they gave up twice that amount. The offense usually gets 2.4 goals a game, but what is really bad is they only managed a long goal.

Recent Betting Trends:

Red Wings are 4-1 in their last 5 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game.

Bruins are 1-4 in their last 5 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game.

Over is 3-1-1 in Red Wings last 5 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game.

Over is 4-0-2 in Bruins last 6 Tuesday games.

Free Betting Pick: Boston Bruins -175

The Red Wings have been hard pressed to play good in games, so the chances of them playing good in back to back games is dramatically low. Expect to see the Bruins into this game and have their offense come to life as they win the game 3-1.

Los Angeles Kings vs. New Jersey Devils

NHL: 7:00 PM EST

Jan. 24, 2017

TV: MSG
Latest Odds : NJ -120 O/U 5.5

Jeff Carter has found himself in the leader role of the Kings for quite some time. The job used to be that of Quick, but his injury really kept him from being able to be the on ice leader the team needs. Jeff Carter has stepped up nicely as the leader and even the leading scorer in goals and overall points. Carter has managed to get 41 points on the season. His point total is actually fairly evenly split with 17 assist and 24 goals on the year.

New Jersey finds themselves on the outside without even a window to look through right now at the playoffs. However, the Devils would like to build upon some of the success they have had against the good teams and start to pick up the wins they need to have. That would really help them out dramatically.

On the season they have been led on the ice by Taylor Hall. Hall has managed to get a total of 31 points, but has found the open player for a goal 20 times on the year.
Recent Betting Trends:
Kings are 1-6 in their last 7 vs. a team with a losing record.
Devils are 4-1 in their last 5 overall.
Over is 4-1-2 in Kings last 7 overall.
Under is 5-1-2 in Devils last 8 overall.
Free Betting Pick: Los Angeles Kings +110
The Kings may be on the road in this game, but they are a hungry team who can easily gain ground in the division. Look for the Kings to come into this game knowing they can do that and win this game rather easily 4-2.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. New York Islanders

NHL: 7:00 PM EST

Jan. 24, 2017

TV: MSG+
Latest Odds : CLB -125 Total 5.5

The Blue Jackets are a team that really has to find their groove again. The offense can only do so much scoring before the defense has to step up. The last game really proved that when the Blue Jackets dominated the first period against the Senators only to start to have some problems later on as the Senators stormed back to almost win the game.

The Blue Jacket faithful did not give up hope as the game dumped to the overtime period. Instead, they had faith the team was going to be able to take the game and that is what they did in overtime as they won the game 7-6.

The Islanders also played an overtime game recently, but they had a different result as the Flyers ended up getting the win. However, the Islanders would like to flip that around some as they are a team that can easily win a lot of games if they are given the chance, but it is getting the chance they have to get to first. With that being the case, the Islanders have struggled quite a bit on the season and it does not look like it is getting better for the team.

Recent Betting Trends:

Blue Jackets are 9-2 in their last 11 vs. a team with a losing record.

Islanders are 4-1 in their last 5 Tuesday games.

Under is 11-4 in Blue Jackets last 15 Tuesday games.

Over is 4-0 in Islanders last 4 vs. a team with a winning % above .600.

Free Betting Pick: Columbus Blue Jackets -125

The Blue Jackets are a team that has really stepped up their game since the massive losing streak they had experienced. Look for the Blue Jackets to be able to continue to step up their game in this game as well as they play a weak Islanders team. Look for the Blue Jackets to win this game 3-1.

St. Louis Blues vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

NHL: 7:00 PM EST

Jan. 24, 2017

TV: NBCSN
Latest Odds : PIT -205 Total 6

The Penguins and the Blues could easily create some great fireworks in this game. Both of these teams have been able to score a lot of goals in some of the games they have played. However, both of these teams have a weaker defense than what they are expected to have. This is very true for the Penguins who are coming into the game as the defending Stanley Cup champs and should be able to protect the net better than what they have on the year so far.

The Penguins on the season have had their offense scoring an average of 3.6 goals a game. That type of production is needed as the Penguins defense has barely been able to keep the opponent under 3 goals a game at 2.9.

With the Blues the offense is getting 2.8 goals a game. The problem is the Blues, which defense used to be great, is giving up 3.1 goals a game on the season so far.

Recent Betting Trends:

Blues are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. Eastern Conference.

Penguins are 45-12 in their last 57 home games.

Over is 7-2-1 in Blues last 10 overall.

Over is 4-0 in Penguins last 4 vs. a team with a losing record.

Free Betting Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins -205

The Penguins are coming into this game as the best scoring team in the nation and they are facing a very weak Blues defense. Look for the Penguins to be able to take this game rather easily as they win 6-3.

Jan. 24, 2017

TV: RSNW
Latest Odds : MON -191 Total 5.5

The Flames and the Canadiens are a couple of Canadian teams that have been playing some great hockey against each other for years. However, a lot of the fans outside of Canada are just going to see this as a battle between a couple of teams that are going to have some of the best games of the year. The problem is because they are a couple of Canadian teams, not many people in the United States will see the game being played.

Max Pacioretty is the player the Canadiens have really had showing up for them on the season. Pacioretty has managed to score a total of 21 goals and has managed to get 18 assist on the season as well, which will help the Canadiens out on getting the wins.

The Flames have had several different players be the leaders for the team. The current points leader for the Flames, though, is Mikael Backlund who has managed to get a total of 33 points on the year.
Recent Betting Trends:
Flames are 1-4 in their last 5 overall.
Canadiens are 8-2 in their last 10 vs. a team with a losing record.
Under is 20-8-2 in Flames last 30 games playing on 0 days rest.
Under is 3-0-1 in Canadiens last 4 overall.
Free Betting Pick: Calgary Flames +181
The Canadiens are the favored team in this game. However, the Canadian fans always support their home team and the Flames are at home. This will get the arena rocking and make it hard for the Canadiens to perform at all. Look for the Flames to win the game 2-1.

Washington Capitals vs. Ottawa Senators

NHL: 7:30 PM EST

Jan. 24, 2017

TV: CNSW
Latest Odds : WASH -115 O/U 5.5

The Capitals are a great team and they look like they have almost locked up a playoff position on the season. However, they are battling quite a big battle with the Blue Jackets for first place in the division and that was not something the Capitals expected to have happen.

What could be a problem for the Capitals is the Senators offense is alive and well. In fact, the Senators gave the Blue Jackets, who have a great defense, a run for the money as they only lost in over time 7-6.

Ottawa finds themselves in second place trying to track down the Canadiens. The Senators are a team that could do this as they are a good team and that can make a difference in the game as the Senators really have a great chance to win this game. What is even better is the fact the Senators offense has started to come to life and that can make a huge difference for the team as well.
Recent Betting Trends:
Capitals are 43-10 in their last 53 vs. Atlantic.
Senators are 5-2 in their last 7 overall.
Over is 7-1-3 in Capitals last 11 road games.
Over is 5-0 in Senators last 5 Tuesday games.
Free Betting Pick: Ottawa Senators +110
The Senators offense is playing great hockey, the defense is picking up some games, but lacking in others. However, when combined with the great offense and decent defense the Senators are unstoppable and that is what they will be in this game as the Senators win close 3-2.
